Scholars and Students with Prof. Allen Kamp
The Louis L. Biro Law Library invites you to join us for a lunchtime conversation with Professor Kamp as part of our Scholars & Students series. We hope you will take this opportunity to get to know favorite professors in an informal setting and to learn what they are working on outside of the classroom.
Prof. Kamp began his legal career at Vedder, Price, Kaufman and Kammholz specializing in work with corporate and tax problems of not-for-profit corporations and in medical-legal problems. He then moved to the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago where he focused on consumer and constitutional litigation. Prof. Kamp decided to go into teaching so that he could have the time to explore topics more deeply than he had been able to in practice. Over the years these topics included the law of personal jurisdiction and class actions. He has also researched and written at length about the origins of the Uniform Commercial Code. Most recently Prof. Kamp has been exploring American “conservatism” and looking at conservative rhetoric as it plays out in the Supreme Court.
